this is the first time im posting something, and doign something useful as a history rep. i feel totally accomplished as a history rep (:
Source based question.1.Inference (5 marks)
-2 GELs
2. Comparison (7 marks)
- 2 similarity, 2 difference
- not compulsory to have 4, can have 2D 1S also to get full 7 marks provided all points are correct and that one comparison is based on purpose.
-Similar
· Common element. (on what basis you are comparing the to sources)
· Quote from 1st source
· Quote from 2nd source
- Different
· Common element
· Inference and quote from 1st source
· Inference and quote from 2nd source
(inference is basically why they are different and what you understand from the source which shows you that the sources differ in showing)
3.Reliability
Part 1
-YES
· Stand
· Evidence + inference (from source in question)
· Cross reference (back it up with evidence from another source)
Part 2
-NO
· Stand
· Evidence + inference
· Cross reference (give example of how another source contradicts what the source in question says)
Part 3
-purpose
· State why the source is reliable or unreliable based on the author
· consider the motive behind the author and see whether the source could be biased or not.
4. Assertion/ Evaluation
Step 1àgroup similar sources
Step 2àGEL group A
-every source must agree with question
Step 3àGEL group B
-every source must disagree with the question
Step 4àquestion reliailty
-basically like part 3 of reliability and you must show why it is reliable based the criteria given in the question and author
Causal QuestionP1-cause will be given in the question. Give PEEL.
P2-PEEL another cause
P3-PEEL a third cause
P4 and P5 are conclusion. Need two comparisons to show why the point you think is correct, is correct
Judgmental
- Describe perspective 1, 2 PEELs.
- Describe persective 2, 2 PEELs
- conclude by comparing both perspectives and their impacts. Give 2 comparisons and “destroy” the points in the losing perspective.
(Mr Chai’s version—

Factors to use when comparing causes/factors for conclusion
-which happens first and caused the others?
-which affects more people?
-which lasts longer?
-which is more difficult to resolve?
-others if applicable (?)
DO NOT CONCLUDE WITH EVEN IF 1 DID NOT HAPPEN, 2 WILL STILL HAPPEN
